Looking Forward . . .

As we enter another month with the “lockdown” still in place around the world, we continue to plan for when the COVID_19 virus threat subsides. In all the countries in Africa where we work, schools are still closed and there is a great deal of uncertainty as to when they will reopen. All we know is that when they do reopen, the need for permanent classrooms will still be high.

In the countries where we had projects planned workers are restricted in their movement, so all construction is on hold. We want to thank those donors who have continued to contribute during these difficult times. With your help, we will be ready to start up again when the time is right.

We have identified several projects we would like to start as soon as circumstances allow, including:

·     Furniture for three schools (ten classrooms) for which we have funds on hand

·     Installation of a classroom at Atti van Wyk Primary School in South Africa for which funds are on hand

·     Six classrooms completion at New Covenant Primary School in Uganda for which funds are on hand

·     Nursery block completion at Naugalo Junior Academy in Uganda - 90% funded (still need $2,000)

·     Science block construction at Albert Valley High School in Uganda - funds are on hand or committed

·     Four-classroom block construction at Star Primary School in Uganda - have 50% of the needed funds

·     Four-classroom block construction at St. John Nyakabingo High School in Uganda –have 50% of funds

·     Classroom/administration block construction at Cornerstone High School in Uganda - still need funds

·     Two classroom/administration block construction at St. Paul Musekera Primary School in Uganda - funds still needed

·     Three- or four-classroom block construction at Jesus Cares Primary School in Uganda – funds still needed

In addition to those listed above, Classrooms for Africa has many other school projects waiting for donors in countries across Eastern and Southern Africa including South Africa, Malawi, Zambia, Kenya, DRC and Uganda.

For more information on any of the listed projects, or others, please contact Classrooms for Africa at: info@classroomsforafrica.org

Once again, thank you for continuing your support during these uncertain times.
