New Early Childhood Classrooms Opened at Rwentutu School, Uganda

In March 2015 representatives from Classrooms for Africa attended the opening celebrations for the three classroom block they provided a grant for in November 2014. These new classrooms now accommodate the youngest students at Rwentutu Christian School. Monies were donated by Christian school teachers and their school communities in Western Canada. The ceremony was held in the new dining building on campus which was sponsored recently by a donor also from Canada.

The occasion was very memorable, with the young students performing dances and singing and the school leaders speaking about the impact Classrooms for Africa has had on the school since 2008 when it sponsored a four-classroom block for Grade 3 and 4 students and subsequent block in 2010. The school now offers education to over 250 from the earliest Nursery level up to Grade 7. The campus is well laid out and the buildings in good shape. Regular teacher enrichment is given by visiting teachers from North America and by teacher training workshops held in Uganda. Thank you contributors for a united effort to make a difference to the children and community of Rwentutu.
