What a Difference a Month Makes!

A month ago, little did we think that we would have as many restrictions and shutdowns that we have now here in Canada and that some countries would be in complete shutdown!

We have just heard Uganda’s President Museveni address to the nation. Schools have been closed for the past couple of weeks but now the country is in complete lock-down in an effort to restrict the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The lock-down includes no private vehicles on the road and a 7 pm. curfew.

At Classrooms for Africa we are grateful for all the messages of encouragement we have received since the pandemic started, from schools we have helped over the years. Thankfully most of our building projects were completed in time for the start of the 2020 school year in Africa (see pictures below). Only two schools are still busy with construction. It is very likely work will not be able to continue under the new regulations. We had four new projects scheduled to start, but these have been postponed until the pandemic is over.

We don’t know what the future holds, but we know the Lord has a plan and we wait expectantly to see what that will be. In the meantime, thank you to the donors and to the staff of the many schools we have had the privilege of working with. Together we are making a difference in the lives of tens of thousands of children in Africa.

Our prayers are with you all. Keep safe and God bless,

The Classrooms for Africa Team
