New Project Starts in Uganda

It is especially rewarding and encouraging that during this difficult time of pandemic we can announce the starting of a new project in Eastern Uganda. Thanks to the generosity of a Vancouver-based donor who has committed to fund the construction of permanent facilities for Faith Nursery and Primary School. We were able to award the first contracts for building three classrooms and two sets of pit latrines.

This rural school in Tororo District was started in 2015 and is sponsored by the Christian Fellowship Ministries Church which owns the land on which it is situated. At present the facilities consist of temporary grass and mud structures. It is anticipated that when Ugandan schools reopen for all grade levels at the end of January 2021, the school’s enrolment will be over 300 students from disadvantaged families in Kindergarten through Grade 7.

During the first week of December 2020 Classrooms for Africa’s representative in Uganda, Robert, will be visiting the school and taking part in the official ground-breaking ceremonies. During his visit to Eastern Uganda, Robert will be visiting 6 other schools in the area where Classrooms for Africa has been or is presently involved.
