The Good Samaritan School Project

In March 2015 representatives from Classrooms for Africa visited the Good Samaritan Community Primary School in the village of Kamuli, Rakai Distric, Uganda. Right on the Tanzanian border, the area is very isolated and poor. In 2012 Classrooms for Africa provided its first grant for the construction of a block of three classrooms with funds provided by teachers and communities of ACSI schools in Western Canada. In 2014 a second grant was made possible by individual donors from Canada to expand the block to include 5 classrooms, storage and offices together with interior and exterior finishes. Below are pictures of the classroom block and students in class. Starting in 2010 with 200 nursery and primary students, the school today registers around 500 students in pre-Kindergarten the Grade 7. Thank you donors for your part in providing a conducive learning facility for these disadvantaged children. Please check here for an earlier posting about this school.
