Background:

Vineyard Christian School is located in Opiyai village, very near  the town of Soroti in Eastern Uganda. It was started in 2008 by concerned parents and pastors to provide the children in this Teso region with quality Christian education. While some of the families can afford tuition, many cannot. Soroti was badly effected by the war that raged in the area during the 80’s and 90’s during which time many villages and homes were destroyed.  Although Soroti and the surrounding areas are now peaceful and stable it has one of the highest number.

The school owns the land on which it is situated. The present enrolment is over 600 students in Pre-kindergarten through Grade 7. In the period 2016 - 2018 Classrooms for Africa provided funds to upgrade 8 classrooms and an administration area as well as constructing four new classrooms.

The enrolment has grown significantly and there is now a need for another 4 classroom block.
