Background:

Jesus Cares Nursery and Primary School was started in 2010 in the Kisinga Trading Centre in Kasese District of Uganda in rented facilities. The five founding pastors have a vision to improve the education, living standards  and health of their community. These pastors were keen to see the establishment of a Christian school similar to Rwentutu Community School also in the Kasese District, whose teachers have received training through the Timothy Centre in Masaka District. They were impressed by the teachers' dedication and the quality of education that can be available to children in low income families.

In 2016, two hectares of land were purchased by the school and six temporary classrooms erected. The current enrollment is over 100, in Nursery through P6 grade levels. Preparations are now being made to construct permanent classrooms. The community is making bricks for the building and application was made to Classrooms for Africa for help fund the buildings.

Representatives from Classrooms for Africa have visited the school and recommend  the project to their donors.
