Background:

Jesus Cares Nursery and Primary School was started in 2010 in the Kisinga Trading Centre, Kasese District of Uganda, in rented facilities. The five founding pastors had a vision to improve the education, living standard and health of the community. These pastors were keen to see the establishment of a Christian school. They had seen the impact of other Christian schools, such as the nearby Rwentutu school, on their communities. They were impressed by the teachers' dedication and the quality of education that could be made available to children from low income families .

In 2016, two hectares of land were purchased by the school and six temporary classrooms erected. The current enrollment is over 100, in Nursery through P6 grade levels. Preparations are now being made to construct permanent classrooms. The community is making bricks for the building and application was made to Classrooms for Africa for help fund the buildings.

Representatives from Classrooms for Africa have visited the school and recommend  the project to their donors.
