Village of Hope Community School
Mongu, Zambia

project:

construction OF FOUR CLASSROOMS

BACKGROUND:

The school was started in 2009 to provide Christian education for the 80 plus orphan children living at the Village of Hope (VOH), Mongu. The school also registers students from the local community. At the time construction was started, the school offered pre-school through Grade 3 with plans to expand to Grade 7.

In March 2011 with funds provided by donors from Alberta, Classrooms for Africa provided a grant to build two classrooms. The classrooms were opened in time for the start of the 2012 school year.

In late 2011 Pacific Academy, Surrey, BC, provided funds to build a further two classrooms which were completed by August 2012.
